ITEM DESCRIPTION
This is an antique Georgian tea caddy of
exceptional quality, and dates to about 1780.
The inlay is more complicated on this caddy,
than on any other tea caddy I can find on the internet.
This has its original
finish, as well as the original knobs and escrution plate.
It is not often that you
run across a superb example that is fresh to market for the first time
in at least the last 60 years.
This caddy needs the following work: 1) It
will need the missing inlay replaced. 2) The interior was clearly
designed to have two compartments. Someone has removed the separating
wall, and the interior corner lid supports. In the photos I used
crumpled newspaper to support the lids, to show you what the interior
will look like when finished.
This could easily be a $4,000+ Tea Caddy when
restored, based on the asking prices for similar caddy's on the
internet.
ITEM MEASUREMENTS
This measures 5 1/4" high, 7 3/8" wide by 4 1/2"
deep.
This weighs about 1 1/4 lbs (before packing).

a bit of work, can look as it did when new.

The wall separating the two compartments, and the
